Caitlin Barfield started her pre-professional career in Austin, Texas with numerous teachers and choreographers such as Quinton Weathers, Dane Burch and Cheryl Copeland, and has worked with artists across the nation in various workshops and intensives, such as Michael Velez, Shelly Hutchinson, Jonathan Campbell and more. With a BFA degree in Dance from California State University, Long Beach, she trained extensively with the faculty at CSULB including Lorin Johnson, Andrew Vaca, Rebecca Lemme, Sophie Monat, Rebecca Bryant and more. Her performance experience included collaborations with alumni, guest artists and the faculty of CSULB while performing a variety of styles including contemporary, modern, ballet, jazz and more. Caitlin views dance as an individualistic form of expression and a therapeutic way to move the body in space. She is currently on faculty for South Coast Conservatory and The ABT Gillespie School. Caitlin is performing in numerous projects for Britton’s Dance Project – based out of San Diego, and Authentic: Grooves – based out of Los Angeles. She hopes to continue a career in teaching dance to a younger generation, and aspiring to acquire a graduate degree in early childhood education.
